Obituary of Byron Wayne Swisher, 69


Byron Wayne Swisher, 69, of rural Tyrone, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2020, surrounded by his family. Byron was born on January 1, 1951 in Philipsburg a son of the late Dowlan S. and Helen L. Hall Swisher. On September 23, 2012 he married the former Charlene F. Hartley, who survives at home. Also surviving are his sons, Edward (Heidi) Hartley of State College, John Shawley of Port Matilda, David (Christina) Swisher of Philipsburg and Daniel (Alicia) Swisher of Julian. Also surviving are his 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; his siblings, Lawrence J. Swisher, Lorraine M. Brownson (“Buster”) and Joyce E. Peters (John).

Byron was the owner and operator of B. W. Swisher Trucking Co.

Byron was a member of the Bible Baptist Church. Byron enjoyed spending time with his family, church activities, classic cars, fishing and hunting.
Family and friends will be received at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 201 Spring St., Milesburg on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 from
1 PM to 2 PM with a funeral service to follow at 2 PM with Pastor Ken Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Union Twp.
