Obituary of Betsy A. Hartman, 86


Betsy A. Hartman, 86, of State College died Saturday, December 1, 2018, at her home.

She was born March 20, 1932, in Bellefonte, to Margaret Boyer Smith.

Betsy worked as a Secretary at Penn State where she retired after 23 Years of service. She was a member of the Red Hats Society of State College. Her hobbies included crafting and gardening.
Betsy had an amazing love for animals and a strong religious faith. She cherished the time spent with her family - especially her children and grandchildren, they were her world.

Surviving her are two daughters, Cynthia Lanager and her husband Randy Markle of State College, and Betsy Hartman of State College; six grandchildren, Patrick, Monica, Mckenzie, Avonna, Ronald and Beverly; three great grandchildren and two “adopted” grandchildren, Jack and Patrick.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by two sons, David and Ronald Hartman, and one great grandson, Ayden Gummo.

Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5, 2018. at the Mount Nittany Methodist Church, 1500 E Branch Rd, State College, PA 16801. The funeral service will immediately follow with The Reverend Edward Preston officiating.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Central PA Humane Society, 1837 East Pleasant Valley Blvd, Altoona, PA 16602.
