Obituary of Dean T. Confer, 94


Dean T. Confer, 94, of Howard and formerly of Blanchard, passed away on Sunday November 17, 2019 at his home. He was born in Blanchard on May 30, 1925 a son of the late Harris E. and Eva I. Masden Confer.

Dean was a graduate of Lock Haven High School class of 1943. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Asian Pacific Theatre where he attained the rank of Seargent. Upon his return stateside he wed the love of his life, Dorothy R. Womelsdorf on August 16, 1946, she survives. They were blessed with two daughters, Karen ( Denny ) Bitner of Howard and Beth ( Clarence ) Probst of Mill Hall, two grandchildren, Joshua ( Melissa ) Probst of Central City and SaraBeth ( Brian ) Vallor of Pittsburgh and three great-grandchildren, Hunter, Tyler, and Laurel Probst.

Dean had been employed as a mechanic at Casselberry Motors in Lock Haven before going to work at Woolrich Woolen Mills as a machinist until his retirement.

He was a devoted member of the Liberty Baptist Church, Blanchard, where he served as church treasurer for many years.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at the Liberty Baptist Church, Main and Bald Eagle Streets, Blanchard on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Dr. Chris Davis officiating. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service.
