Obituary of Donald H. McClain, 69


Donald H. McClain, 69, of rural Julian, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Don was born on February 3, 1949, in Lock Haven, Clinton County, a son of the late Charles R. and Lena J. Henry McClain.

On July 26, 1969, he married the former Bertha I. Dubbs, who survives at home. Also surviving are his sons, Troy D. McClain, of rural Julian and Brian E. (Sherry) McClain, of Port Matilda. Don is also survived by his three grandchildren, his favorite grandson, Jacob Miller; and five great-grandchildren; his brother, Ronald C. (Ruby) McClain, of Julian; his sisters, Grace Hayes, of Bellefonte and Sonja J. Ghaner, of Port Matilda.

Don was a High Grade Lime Plant Operator at Graymont. Don was a veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force from October 1968 to October 1972. Don was of the Methodist faith. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a game player.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Parker.
