Obituary of Dorothy M. Embick, 88


Dorothy M. Embick, 88, formerly of Loganton, went home to be with her Lord on July 31, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Born July 7, 1930 in Smullton, Dorothy was a daughter of the late Palmer L. and Lula E. (Day) Brungart. On May 28, 1948 she married Ralph W. Embick, Sr. who preceded her in death on January 2, 2011.

Dorothy and her husband had owned and operated the Maple Grove Farm in Loganton. She attended several area churches and loved to attend church camp meetings. Dorothy loved music and played the guitar. She enjoyed vegetable gardening, flower gardening and visiting friends. Dorothy was a local housecleaner known for her amazing house cleaning skills.

Dorothy is survived by one daughter, Diane M. Rege of MA; two sons, Dale E. Embick of Williamsport and David L. Embick of Pine Creek; two granddaughters, Diane K. Weaver (Robbie) of Loganton and Gitanjali S. Rege (Filip) of MA and four great grandchildren, Hunter, Tanner and Taylor Weaver and Lilah M. Rege. Also surviving are two brothers, Marcellus Brungart (Mary Jane) and Dean Brungart (Janice). In addition to her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by one son, Daryl W. Embick and two brothers, LaRue and Leonard Brungart.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, August 3rd from 6-8 pm at the Loganton Wesleyan Church, 4972 Long Run Road, Loganton PA. The funeral will be held at the church on Saturday, August 4th at 11 am with Pastor Dan Reed officiating. Dorothy will be laid to rest in the Evangelical Cemetery in Rebersburg. Contributions in memory of Dorothy may be given to Alzheimer’s Association, Po Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011 or to the Loganton Wesleyan Church, 4972 Long Run Road, Loganton, PA 17747.
