Obituary of Gary Kellogg


Gary Kenneth Kellogg of Bellefonte went home to the Lord on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Mount Nittany Medical Center following a brief illness. Gary was born on October 31, 1945 in Bellefonte. He is the son of the late Carl M. Kellogg and Margaret Rossman Kellogg, who survives in Bellefonte. He is also survived by his wife, Jerie (Schreffler) of 45 years, his son Jeffrey, wife Donna, of Bellefonte, and granddaughters Madison and Makenzie. In addition, he is survived by his sister, Susan Kersavage, and brother Michael Kellogg. He is preceded in death by his father, Carl Kellogg, his brother in law Robert Kersavage, and nephew Zachary Ingram.

Gary was a graduate of Bellefonte High School, Class of 1963. He retired from Cerro Metal. He is a life member of the Faith United Methodist Church. He served in the US Army Reserves where he was recognized as a M14 Sharpshooter. He was a member of the Pleasant Gap Legion and the 4x4 Sportsman Club. Gary was an avid baseball fan, golfer, hunter and bowler. He cherished most, his time with his granddaughters. He was a member of 1958 Bellefonte Little League State Championship team and 1961 Babe Ruth State Championship team, and then had the pleasure of coaching his son’s team to the 1991 Teener League State Championship.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 from 11am-1pm at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte. Funeral services will be held at 1pm at the funeral home with Rev. Andrew Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at the Zion Community Cemetery.
