Obituary of Jane M Williams, 79


Jane Miriam Williams, 79, of Townsend, DE, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the Christiana Care Hospital, Hospice Care Unit in Newark, DE. Born on January 20, 1939, in Bellefonte, PA, she was the daughter of the late Russell L. Lair and Margaret Rudy Shawver. In 1958, she married Albert L. R. Shilling of Blanchard, PA. on January 17, 1976, in Centre Hall, she married Ralph E. Williams who survives in Townsend, DE.

Jane attended the Centre Hall-Potter High School. She was of the protestant faith.

Jane was a homemaker. She was a volunteer as well as a receptionist at the MOT Senior Centre in Middletown, DE. She was a member of the Fleet Reserve Chapter 99, where she held the office of Chaplin. She was also a member of the American Legion Post 14 in Smyrna, DE, the Ladies Auxiliary Fire Company in Townsend, DE. and a past member of the American Legion Post 100 in Virginia Beach.

Jane enjoyed camping, ceramics and crocheting. She was a people person and loved to be around the elderly. She found great enjoyment in helping others.

Jane is survived by her husband, two daughters; Tina Marie Payton of Virginia Beach and Sheila Nadine Reed and her husband, Jason, of Bellefonte, and one son, Steven Lee Shilling and his wife, Karen, of Jersey Shore. Also surviving are her 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and two brothers, Donald Shawver and Ronald Shawver, both of Centre Hall.

Along with her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her son, Wesley Don Shilling, two brothers Eugene Lair and Russell Lair, and one sister, Jenny Lucas.

Visitation will be on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 10am until 12noon at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 228 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 12noon, with Pastor Keith Noel officiating. Burial will be at the Reformed & Lutheran Cemetery in Centre Hall.

In lieu of flowers, Jane request memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 1375 Martin St #206, State College, PA 16803.
