Obituary of Joachim 'Joa' Samuel Hall, 34


Joachim “Joa” Samuel Hall, 34, of Bellefonte, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Monday, April 2, 2018. Born in State College, on August 16, 1983, he was the son of Kim Hall and Louise Manginell, of Milesburg and Bellefonte, respectively.

Joa attended St. John’s Catholic School in Bellefonte and was a 2001 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. He worked as an equipment manager for Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his significant other, Julie Pfister; one brother, Isaiah Hall (Katie Sharer) of Bellefonte, and one sister, Cosetta O’Neil (Richard) of Bellefonte. Also surviving is one grandmother, Mrs. Rodman Hall of Milesburg; three nephews, Owen Foster, Hunter Shirk, and Richard O’Neil; and his four-legged companion, Eva.

Joa was preceded in death by his grandparents, Samuel Manginell, Cosetta Manginell, and Rodman Hall.

Joa was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. Joa was an avid Patriots fan.

Friends will be received on Friday, April 6, 2018 from 9-10am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 134 Bishop Street, Bellefonte. Mass will immediately follow 10am at the church with Father George Jakopac officiating.

An additional receiving of friends will take place on Friday, April 6, 2018 from 4-7pm at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. at 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. A Celebration of Life will be held at the funeral home at 7pm with Pastor Greg Shipe officiating.

Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Catholic School at 116 E. Bishop Street, Bellefonte, PA 16823.
