Obituary of Kenneth W. Fiedler, 86


Kenneth W. Fiedler, 86, of Bellefonte, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2018 at Eagle Valley Personal Care in Milesburg. Born on August 2, 1932, in Woodward, PA, he was the son of the late Stanley J. and Dorothea (Whitley) Fiedler. He was married to his beloved wife, Patricia V. Fiedler, who preceded him in death in 2012.

Kenneth was a graduate of East Penns Valley High School. He worked for the Pennsylvania Fish Commission for 40 years and was the superintendent at the time of his retirement.

Kenneth is survived by three daughters, Kimber-Leigh F. Love (Kevin S.), of Palmyra, PA, Kathy L. Swearingen (William), of Pleasant Gap, and Melissa F. McAneny (Frank) of Dillsburg, PA; five grandchildren, Tyler Love, Zach Love, Elise McAneny, Matthew McAneny, and Mackenzie Swearingen.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Maxine Boyer, Phyllis Bressler, Jean Sampsel, Ileene Royer, and Nancy Donnelly; he was the last of his generation.

Kenneth was a life member of St. John Lutheran Church in Bellefonte. He enjoyed hunting and anything that kept him outdoors. He was a member of the Rugged Mountain Hunting Club in Aaronsburg. He loved to travel. Ken especially enjoyed tenting at the Centre County Grange Fair every year. He was an avid fan of Penn State sports, the Phillies, and all the local sports for Bellefonte. He supported his grandchildren and all the activities that they were involved in.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Nilesh Patel, Grane Hospice, and the staff at Eagle Valley Personal Care. Additionally, they would like to express their appreciation to all the friends and family who faithfully supported Kenneth during his illness.

There will be a public viewing held on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 9:30-11 am at St. John Lutheran Church at 216 N. McAllister Street, Bellefonte. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11am at the church with Rev. Will Osman officiating. Burial will follow at Centre County Memorial Park in State College.
