Obituary of LaRue P. Witmer, 97


LaRue P. Witmer, 97, of Bellefonte, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018, at Centre Crest in Bellefonte. LaRue was born on April 4, 1920 in Bellefonte a daughter of the late John and Bertha Musser Tressler. On November 8, 1938 she married William Wade Witmer, who preceded her in death May 4, 1984.

LaRue is survived by her daughter, Connie (Andrew) Josefik of Bellefonte and her son, William Witmer of Loganton. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, and her nine great-grandchildren, and her brother Roy Tressler of State College.

LaRue attended the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Bellefonte. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed baking. She was the best cook ever. She was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Irene M. McLaughlin, her brothers, John Tressler, Harold Tressler, and her sisters, Romayne Long, Edna Young and Mearian Cain.

The family would like to thank the staff at HealthSouth and the nurses and staff at Centre Crest for the excellent care they gave to LaRue at the end stage of her life.

Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family with Pastor Ronald E. Baker, officiating. There will be no public visitation. Burial will be in Meyer Cemetery, Benner Twp., Centre Co.
