Obituary of Leonard L. Brungart, 90


Leonard L. Brungart, 90, of Rebersburg, passed from this life on Tuesday September 5, 2017 at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born August 31, 1927 in Rebersburg, Leonard was a son of the late Palmer and Lula (Day) Brungart. On January 16, 1948, Leonard married Alma S. Richardson who preceded him in death in 1999.

Leonard was a longtime block layer/ brick mason and was employed by Long’s Construction. He attended Rebersburg God’s Missionary Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking. Leonard was known for his bread baking skills and loved to share his hunting stories.

Leonard is survived by three daughters, Carol Williams of Winston Salem, NC, Linda Brungart of Rebersburg and Dolores Peachey (Ezra) of Ephrata; one sister, Dorothy Embick of Mill Hall; two brothers, Dean Brungart (Janice) of Centre Hall and Marcellus Brungart (Mary) of Rebersburg. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Daniel Peachey (Debbie), Katrina Spangler (Bart), Matthew Peachey (Lynn), Amanda Feighner (Jason) and Anthony Williams (Angela) along with fourteen great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Leonard was preceded in death by one brother LaRue Brungart.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, September 9th from 9:30-11:00 am at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim. The funeral service will follow at 11 am with Rev. Matthew Peachey and Daniel Peachey officiating. Leonard will be laid to rest in Heckman Cemetery in Spring Mills.
