Obituary of Margaret Mary 'Dicka' Tobias, 92


Margaret M. “Dicka” Tobias, 92, of Clarence, passed away peacefully at Centre Crest Nursing Home in Bellefonte on Monday, April 23, 2018. Born on December 10, 1925, in Clarence, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Vangor Tobias.

Dicka attended the Snow Shoe High School. She worked at Murata Erie in State College until her retirement. She was a member of the Queen of Archangels Roman Catholic Parish Church in Clarence and a member of the Rosary Society.

Dicka loved to cook, especially hunky soup. She was an excellent baker. Some of her hobbies were; playing cards, especially 500 rummy, playing bingo, mowing her yard, and attending yard sales. She enjoyed crocheting beautiful afghans and giving them to her family and friends. Her greatest joy was to be with her family.

Dicka is survived by her brother in law, Harry Shope of Bellefonte and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers; John and Andrew, one sister, Marie Shope, and her cousin and best friend, Margie Chambers. Dicka was the last of her generation.

In accordance to Dicka’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. All are welcome to attend the Funeral Mass on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 11am at the Queen of Archangels Roman Catholic Parish Church in Clarence with Father Michael Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michaels Catholic Cemetery in Clarence.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Altar and Rosary Society, 102 Church St. Clarence, PA. 16829.
