Obituary of Mary Staco, 94


Mary H. Staco, 94, of Snow Shoe, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at her home. Born on April 29, 1923, in Clarence, she was the daughter of the late Pete and Othella Alexander. On February 2, 1941 in Clarence, she married George M. Staco. George passed away on October 2, 1987.

Mary attended the Clarence School. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Queen of Archangels Roman Catholic Parish Chapel in Snow Shoe. She was a past member of the Clarence American Legion Auxiliary.

Mary enjoyed cooking and baking. Her specialty was her rum cake. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She was very proud of her grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her son, George M. Staco, Jr of Snow Shoe, and two daughters, Mary Jane Reilly of Sussex NJ and Marge A. Crust of Milesburg. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren and four great great-great grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Verna Kling, four brothers; Pete, Andy, John, and Joe, and one twin sister, Anna Verbitsky. Mary was the last of her generation.

Visitation will be on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8pm with a rosary service at 7:45pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Snow Shoe. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 11am at the Queen of Archangels Roman Catholic Parish Chapel in Snow Shoe. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Snow Shoe.

Mary’s family would like to thank the hospice staff that gave excellent care given to their mother and grandmother. Without their assistance, Mary would not have been able to stay in her home.
