Obituary of Peter J. 'Pete' Cowher, 58


Peter J. "Pete" Cowher, 58, of rural Julian, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Pete was born on September 2, 1959, in Camden, New Jersey a son of the late William B. and Kathryn P. Moulter Cowher.

Pete is survived by his wife, the former, Kathleen Baxter Cowher of Millersville. Also surviving are his step-daughters, Misti McCloskey, Amanda Fedisson and Jenifer Horn. Pete is also survived by his brothers, William B. Cowher of Julian, James E. Cowher of Julian, and Tim "Tiger" Cowher of Altoona, and his sisters, Kathy Wellar of Julian, and Debra Donley of Julian.

Pete was a Highway Bridge Inspector for JBC Associates. He was a member of the Army National Guard from October 9, 1984 to November 28, 1990. Pete was of the Protestant Faith.

He was a member of Milesburg American Legion Post 893, a member of Milesburg American Legion Riders, Bellefonte VFW Post 1600 and the Undine Fire Co.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM at The Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, 201 Spring St., Milesburg. Services will follow at 7:30 PM with Pastor Rodger Traxler officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
