Obituary of Robert Louis Shilling, 66
Robert Louis Shilling, 66, of Centre Hall, died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 21, 1944, in Blanchard, a son of the late Charles and Jenny Mae Ranck Shilling. On July 1, 1967, he married Marietta Shilling, who survives at their home. Bob was a truck driver for his entire working life and enjoyed his occupation very much. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnams Conflict. He loved the opportunity to fish, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Leisa Mueller (Jeff), of Somerville, Texas; two sons, Dwayne Colpetzer, of Millheim, and Douglas Colpetzer (Brenda), of Centre Hall; three sisters, Susan Forbes, of Mifflinburg, April Haines (James), of Mill Hall, and Crystal Peters (John), of Blanchard; two brothers, Jeff Heverly (Christina Anderson), of State College, and Albert Shilling (Barb), of Bellefonte; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his best friend of 45 years, James Chandler and his children, who always called him "Uncle Bob"; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at Kader-Neff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 135 W. Main St., Howard. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m., at the funeral home, with the Rev. Darrell Egof officiating. Burial will be in Hays-Fearon Cemetery, Beech Creek, at the family's convenience.
