Obituary of Roy Hall Jr.

02/19/2018

On February 14, 2018, our father peacefully departed this life and embarked on his final journey. The train pulled out of the station at Mount Nittany Medical Center while his loved ones said goodbye. The family is eternally grateful for the family friend who sat by his bedside that afternoon and assured him the Lord had prepared a home for him, and God and others were waiting for his arrival in heaven. Those prayers and blessings gave our father the assurance he needed to pass without worry or regret. We thank the amazing doctors, nurses and assistants at Mt. Nittany, especially Dr. Siuta. We would also like to thank the staff at Centre Crest for their caring support over the last few months.

Our father loved his family and the many beloved pets he had over the years. He loved people and the company of others and would strike up a conversation with everyone he encountered. Some of his favorite memories in recent years were of the wonderful times he spent in the home of Joe and Connie Salvanish of Clarence.

His days after retirement in 1986 were spent walking downtown to visit with store and restaurant staff. Mamma Lucrezia’s was his home away from home when he was still in good health. Dad was employed by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission for thirty-two years.

He is survived by four children: Carol Shuey (her husband, Tom) of Vermont; Roy, III, (his wife, Nanette) of Houtzdale; Robert (his wife, Terri) of Reedsville; and Lori Hall (companion, Brad Salvanish) of Bellefonte. Five grandchildren survive: Jennifer Armet (David), Joshua Shuey (Lara), Eric Hall, Brandi Hall, and Liza Wilson (Matt). Liza graciously spent many hours visiting with him at Mt. Nittany. There are many nieces and nephews surviving, as well as one brother, Richard (Grace) of Milesburg.

There will be no services or public visitation, per our father’s request.

Since animals that are in need were very important to our father, a donation to Pets Come First of Centre Hall, 2451 General Potter Hwy, Centre Hall, PA 16828 would be appreciated.

Our father will be deeply missed by those whose lives he touched daily. We wish nothing more for him than a grand reunion in heaven with those who passed before him. Our father will live on in our hearts forever. Thank you for the many wonderful memories and selfless acts.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 106 W. Sycamore St. Snow Shoe. An online guest book can be signed or condolences to the family available at www.daughenbaughfuneralhome.com.
