State Parks provide a variety of activities during all seasons. Here are some that may pique your interest.

Whipple Dam State Park

Recreational Opportunities

Camping, picnicking, fishing, hiking trails, boating, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, swimming, food concession

 

Directions to Whipple Dam State Park Take PA 26 east toward pine Grove Mills; go over the mountain and follow until you see a sign for Whipple Dam State Park on your left

Penn Roosevelt State Park

Recreational Opportunities

Picnicking, camping, hiking, horseback riding, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, hunting

 

Directions to Penn Roosevelt State Park From US 322, one half mile east of Potters Mills, turn south onto Crowfield Road, look for signs

Greenwood Furnace State Park

Recreational Opportunities

Camping, playground, hunting, picnicking

 

Directions to Greenwood Furnace State Park Take PA 26 east, go over the mountain, and follow until you get to the stop sign of McAlevy's Fort; bear left and follow until you see signs for the park

Directions to Bald Eagle State Park ... Bald Eagle State Park, Centre County, is along PA Route 150 between Milesburg and Lock Haven. From the west, take I-80 to Exit 158 and take PA 150 north for about 10 miles. From the east, take I-80 to Exit 178 and take U.S. 220 north, then take PA 150 south for about 13 miles.
