A great end of summer tradition for the Centre Region, the Centre County Grange Encampment & Fair, more commonly known as "The Grange Fair," begins August 22nd and runs through August 29th. This year marks the 134th year of the annual fair. Livestock exhibits & sales, camping areas, carnival rides, concession stands, concerts, craft exhibits, food exhibits, and tractor pulls are just some of the attractions visitors can expect to see at the fair.

Admission to the Grange Fair is $6 per day or $15 for a weeklong admission pass. Children 11 and under are admitted free. All grandstand entertainment is included in the price of admission. Individual tickets or all day passes can be purchased for the carnival rides.
Parking is $6 per vehicle, or a weeklong parking pass can be purchased for $16. Wheelchairs and motorized scooter rentals are available for rent from T&B Medical of State College.
Members of the Grange Fair Committee ask visitors to adhere to the following rules:
• Pets are not permitted in Grange Park
• Alcoholic Beverages of any kind are not permitted on the fairgrounds at any time.
• Open fires of any kind are prohibited in Grange Park. This includes charcoal or gas Bar-B-Q grills.
• Children 8 years of age and younger must be supervised by an adult.
• Loud talk and objectionable or profane language are prohibited at all times.
• Audio and video taping of Grandstand Shows is prohibited.
Opening Day Activities
Campers can begin to set up tent sites on August 21st, with fair activities beginning August 22nd. The children's playground will open at 9 a.m. on the 22nd with craft sessions for children beginning at 10 a.m. in the Rec. Building. The official Grange Fair welcome will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the Grandstand, with the Fair Queen Coronation beginning at 7 p.m.

Exhibit & Show Information
All exhibits will open to the public August 23rd at 4 p.m. The exhibit halls will close at 10 p.m. Livestock exhibits will feature beef & dairy cattle, goats, chickens, sheep, horses, pigs, and even rabbits. Visitors to the livestock exhibits are asked to not enter the animals' stalls or to feed the animals.
Youth livestock shows will be held Friday, August 23rd at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and 5 p.m. The youth livestock shows will feature rabbits, poultry, and goats. The youth dairy show will be held August 24th at 9:30 a.m. The junior livestock sale is scheduled for August 28th at 4 p.m. For a complete listing of shows, visit the Grange Fair's website at www.grangefair.net .
Food exhibits will include garden vegetables, fruits, baked goods, cakes, breads, pies, cookies, brownies, jams, jellies, canned products, etc. A baked goods auction will be held August 23rd at 4 p.m. at the Grange Exhibit Building.
Craft exhibits will showcase knitting projects, counted cross-stitch pieces, quilts, tablecloths, rugs, and afghans. Children's crafts displays will feature models, woodworking, beadwork, and sand art.

Children's day at the Grange Fair will be Monday, August 26th. Children though high school age will be admitted free to the fair until 4 p.m.
Denny Huber will be performing magic tricks at the Southside Stage at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., and 5 p.m. Hypnotist Michael Blaine will be performing at 2:30 p.m. on the Southside Stage. A Horseless Rodeo center will be set up from noon-2 p.m. at the Equine Facility for children ages 2-12 with free children's games and prizes. Other activities for children will include a coloring contest, bean bag toss, fishing booth, and face painting.
Children's Day is also the first round of qualifying for the horseshoe tournament. Qualifying rounds begin at 9 a.m. at the Horseshoe Pitch Courts. The finals will be held on August 28th at 9 a.m.
Final Day Activities
The last day of the fair will be Thursday, August 29th, which is Senior Citizen's Day at the fair. Those aged 62 years and older are admitted free to the fair all day. The Grange Fair parade will begin at 1 p.m. and will feature numerous floats and local high school bands. Local country band, Kip Moore will perform at the Grandstand at 8 p.m. All exhibit buildings will close at 9 p.m.
