Sips & Sounds Festival Returning to Downtown State College

An outdoor food and drink festival with local music is returning to downtown State College for its second year.

Sips & Sounds Downtown, hosted by the Downtown State College Improvement District, will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 28 in Sidney Friedman Park. As with the inaugural edition in 2023, this year’s festival will kick off the weekend of the Ironman 70.3 Pennsylvania Happy Valley, which takes place on Sunday, June 30.

After being held on the 200 block of South Allen Street last year, the move to the park will provide “ample shade, play areas for children and grassy patches ideal for laying out a cozy picnic blanket,” according to DSCID.

The event will feature craft beverage makers from the Central Pennsylvania Tasting Trail, local food vendors and music by Mystery Mochine, DJ Elbow Knee Knee and Anna Pearl Belinda and Sam Christensen.

Beverage Vendors:

  • University Wine Company
  • Mount Nittany Vineyard & Winery
  • Axemann Brewery
  • Barrel 21 Distillery
  • Otto’s Pub & Brewery
  • Antifragile Brewing Co.
  • Big Spring Spirits
  • 814 Cider Works
  • Happy Valley Nomadic Spirits (non-alcoholic)
  • Moody Culture Kombucha (non-alcoholic)

Food Vendors:

  • Auntie Anne’s
  • Juana’s Venezuelan Cuisine
  • Belle Springs
  • Real Taste 570
  • Twisted Whisk Catering
  • Dulce Luca
  • Sunset Slush Happy Valley
  • El Jefe’s Taqueria

Pre-registration to skip the lines is available through Eventbrite. There is no charge for admission, but a $10 donation is suggested to support future community events.

Free three-hour parking validations will be provided on request at the DSCID table for the Pugh Street, Fraser Street or Beaver Avenue parking garages.

DSCID is looking for volunteers to assist with the festival, which is supported by a Tourism Grant from the Happy Valley Adventure Bureau and Centre County Board of Commissioners. Volunteer sign-up is available online.
