Centre County Adds 6 COVID-19 Cases; Pennsylvania Reports 334 New Positives

Centre County reported six new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday to increase its total to 16,944, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Pennsylvania added 334 positives, bringing the statewide total to 1,214,654.

The county also reported 38 negatives, bringing its total to 71,700. Statewide, there were 5,043 new negatives for a total of 4,823,330.

According to the DOH hospital preparedness dashboard, four COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in Centre County, one more than on Monday, with none in intensive care or on ventilators.

Pennsylvania has 243 COVID-19 inpatients, a decrease of 13 since Monday, with 55 in intensive care [+6] and 33 on ventilators [+1].

DOH reported no new deaths attributed to the virus among Centre County residents, keeping the total at 228.

With nine new COVID-19 deaths statewide, Pennsylvania’s total is now 27,759.

An estimated 97% of COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered, according to a health department calculation.

As of Tuesday morning, 76,604 people in Centre County are fully vaccinated and 5,215 are partially covered.

Vaccination appointments for ages 12 and older are available through Centre Volunteers in MedicineMount Nittany Health and through other pharmacies and providers listed at vaccines.gov.
