A few rags and some flame-retardant spray caused a small fire in Irving’s on Tuesday night, but the cafe’s owner said it will be open on Wednesday.
Alpha Fire Company confirmed it dispatched units to Irving’s, 110 E. College Ave., around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Officials said said a few rags and flame-retardant spray caused a fire in the kitchen. The owner of Irving’s, David Schoenholtz, said that he anticipates the cafe opening tomorrow morning, although he is not sure what time.
Candidate for Pennsylvania attorney general Kathleen Kane is scheduled to have breakfast with supporters at Irving’s on Wednesday morning.
The incident is under investigation, police said.
