Penn State football fans who sat in long traffic jams and delays on Saturday vented their frustration over this season’s parking and traffic changes.
It was the first major test of the ‘#RunYourRoute’ system, with a noon kickoff for a rivalry game against Pitt and a reported 108,000 fans. The result: long traffic jams and short tempers.
‘It’s hard to imagine that they could make it worse, but they have,’ one fan said. ‘And everybody that parks around us has said this year’s worse than it’s ever been. I really hope they change it or do something, because this is terrible.’
And after the game ended, there were again long delays with angry fans sitting in cars that inched forward or remained in park. Some asked police to remove the traffic cones blocking one direction, to no avail.
