State College residents should soon have a new place to get their pancake fix — just in time for the holiday season.

IHOP plans to open its new State College restaurant in early December. IHOP is setting up shop at 1661 S. Atherton St., in the building that once housed a Perkins Restaurant. Workers have been busy renovating the space for several months.

“We are … targeted for December 4th although as always with construction projects, this date is subject to change,” says IHOP spokesperson Craig Hoffman.

Hoffman says IHOP has been looking to open a restaurant in State College for some time. They just needed to find the right location for the restaurant.

“Our menu offers something for everyone and students, faculty and the rest of the community will find our great food and warm friendly service a welcome addition to State College,” Hoffman says.
