More than 1,300 West Penn Power customers in the State College area lost electricity early Thursday evening, according to the power company’s website.
The outages came as a strong storm — with thunder, lightning and heavy rain — passed through the area.
According to the West Penn website, 1,309 customers in State College temporarily lost service due to equipment problems. Additional limited outages were reported in the Lemont and Boalsburg areas.
The power company expects to restore power to all customers by 7:45 p.m., according to the website. West Penn Power’s parent is Allegheny Power.
