Indigo nightclub in downtown State College is closing, but future plans for the 112 W. College Ave. location already seem to be in the works.
‘Thank you for over ten years of making Indigo a staple of Happy Valley nightlife,’ a post on Indigo’s Facebook page stated on Tuesday. ‘We’re closing our doors as Indigo, but stay tuned for what’s next in our Basement.’
The bar, part of the Hotel State College establishments, had been in business as Indigo since 2008, but has a long history a nightclub. Before becoming Indigo, it was Player’s.
Though the Facebook post indicates that the space won’t stay empty for long, it marks the latest change this year to downtown nightlife. The All-American Rathskeller closed in January, with the space at 108 S. Pugh St. reopening last week under new owners as Doggie’s Rathskeller & Garden. Darkhorse Tavern closed in the spring and future plans for the 127 E. Calder Way have not been confirmed.
