BELLEFONTE — Matt Sandusky, the youngest of Jerry Sandusky’s six adopted children, said through his attorneys Thursday for the first time that he was sexually abused by Sandusky.
State College-based lawyers Andrew Shubin and Justine Andronici released a statement saying they immediately arranged a meeting between Matt, the prosectutors and investigators.
‘This has been an extremely painful experience for Matt and he has asked us to convey his request that the media respect his privacy. There will be no further comment at this time.’
During testimony last week, alleged victim No. 4 said there was one instance when Matt Sandusky was in the shower with him and Jerry but left the shower once he saw Jerry starting to pump soap for a soap battle.
Earlier Thursday, NBC reported Matt Sandusky was ready to testify Wednesday about some of the alleged incidents he witnessed involving his father.
Also Thursday, a 30-year-old Ohio man told NBC News he was sexually abused more than 100 times by Sandusky, including at the hotel at the Rose Bowl during Penn State’s charmed 1994 season.
In an exclusive interview to be broadcast at 10 p.m. on NBC’s Rock Center, Travis Weaver said Sandusky performed oral sex on him in the upstairs bedroom of Sandusky’s home, across the hall from Sandusky’s wife, Dottie.
Weaver said Dottie Sandusky never saw any of the abuse, according to the report, but he thinks she knew what was going on.
StateCollege.com does not typically release the names of alleged victims of sexual abuse but is doing so here because Weaver was willing to come forward publicly in a nationally televised interview.
Jerry Sandusky is awaiting his verdict on 48 counts in a child sex abuse case. The jury has been deliberating since shortly after 1 p.m.
