The same day John Urschel was named an All-Big Ten guard following the 2013 season, Penn State’s smartest athlete found himself on the CBS Evening News for his achievements both on and off of the gridiron.
“I wouldn’t say not very common among athletes, this is uncommon among graduate students,” Urschel told CBS News when it was noted he has as many academic papers as varsity letters. “I’m 22 and I have four papers.”
