Penn State football may have the quarterback of the future locked up in its 2018 recruiting class as four-star gunslinger Justin Fields verbally committed to the Nittany Lions on Thursday night.

Fields hails from Kennesaw, Georgia and was largely considered to be choosing from his home state school and the Nittany Lions according to the 247 Network. Fields had received offers from numerous schools and is considered to be the eight best quarterback in the 2018 cycle.

The newest Penn State commit took to Twitter to announce his destination.

With Fields now in the 2018 haul Penn State has six commits and the No.1 rated class in the nation. Fields joins the headliner in five-star defensive end Micah Parsons from Harrisburg.
