Just a day after adding talent to the 2018 class, Penn State got back to stocking up on prospects for the 2017 haul.

This time the size and strength comes in the form of Springfield (Pa.) Cardinal O’Hara offensive tackle Desmond Holmes. Holmes announced his commitment on Twitter.

Coming in at 6-foot-5, the 325-pound prospect is the 14th member of Penn State’s 2017 class and the fourth offensive lineman to join the growing list of future Nittany Lions. CJ Thrope, Michael Miranda and Robert Martin have all committed in the past year.

On paper Holmes is rated a three-star prospect and is the No. 15 prospect in Pennsylvania and the No. 101 offensive tackle in the Class of 2017 according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

The most recent commitment brings Penn State’s class ranked up to No. 21 in the nation according to the 247 Network. Holmes’ commitment comes just a day after four-star receiver prospect Justin Shorter joined the 2018 class.
