Penn State fans can get in on some limited Nike action this week with the release of the Nike “Week Zero” collection set to drop on Wednesday.
According to the Nike release, Penn State is one of only 13 schools to hit the shelves in the coming weeks.
“After months of preparation, training and practice, all of the hard work that athletes put in come together on Week Zero – the unofficial kickoff to the college football season. With the season beginning in two weeks, Nike is harnessing the passion and energy of 13 college football programs by releasing the Week Zero Collection.”
Penn State has long partnered with Nike throughout the years although the terms of the Nittany Lions’ newest contract with the company is unknown. $500,000 of James Franklin’s annual salary is paid for by Nike. Franklin is set to make 4.1 million guaranteed this upcoming season.
The good news for everyone not making millions, the limited edition shoe will only set you back $110 which is a reasonable price considering the often surprisingly pricey market for sneakers.
Penn State has already released a short clip of the shoe, ones that players expect to get later on at the start of the season. You can read more about the shoe on Nike’s website here.
