Penn State forward Alex Limoges didn’t land in the Hobey Baker top 10, but the sophomore talent still managed to pick up a first-team nod from College Hockey News. Limoges was named to the team alongside fellow Big Ten forward Taro Hirose.
Limoges told StateCollege.com on Tuesday evening that he intends to return for his junior season.
Both players finished their respective seasons with 50-points, a mark that still leads the nation as the postseason skates along. Limoges ended the year with 23 goals and 27 assists while scoring 10 times on the power play. Limoges set Penn State’s single-season points record and single-season goals record.
Penn State fell 3-2 to Notre Dame in the Big Ten Tournament Final following a semifinals victory over Ohio State and a first-round series win over Wisconsin in three games.
The Nittany Lions won 23 games in 2018-19, second best every in the program’s history but missed the postseason by a narrow margin in the PairWise rankings.
Even so, Limoges’ season was one for the books.
