The Paternoville sign stolen outside Beaver Stadium last week has been recovered, Penn State announced Wednesday morning.
Police have identified a suspect in the case, and an investigation is ongoing, according to a university news release.
It says authorities expect to file criminal charges soon, though the suspect’s name had not been released as of Wednesday morning.
The case involves not only the theft of the Paternoville sign, but also other vandalism at the stadium. On Feb. 28, a car was driven into stadium gates and onto some nearby grass (not the stadium field), and also hit two signs, according to a police report. One of them was the Paternoville marker; it was stolen from the scene, police said.
Penn State reported Wednesday that more details will be released as they become available.
