Blue-White Weekend at Penn State is set for April 15 through April 17, the university announced this week.
The traditional blue-white football scrimmage at Beaver Stadium is scheduled for 2 p.m. April 16 at Beaver Stadium. As usual, no admission or parking fees will be in effect. The scrimmage also will be broadcast via the Penn State Sports Network and appear live at www.gopsusports.com.
Festivities for the weekend are being presented by AAA, according to the university announcement. They’ll mark the start of celebrations for Penn State football’s 125th anniversary, it notes.
Events in addition to the football scrimmage will include the Beaver Stadium 5K Run/Family Fun Walk, to benefit Special Olympics Pennsylvania; a three-day carnival; a pre-game autograph session; live entertainment; and fireworks. The Penn State baseball, lacrosse and women’s tennis teams will be competing at home that weekend, as well.
More than 40,000 people usually attend the blue-white scrimmage, according to Penn State. More details of the weekend will be announced in the coming weeks.
