State College Police are looking for a woman they believe stole a bird from a pet store.

The alleged theft occurred at about noon on Tuesday at Finatics Aquarium & Pet Center in the Nittany Mall. Police said a female suspect seen in store video is believed to have taken the bird, a pineapple green-cheek conure.

The suspect is described as a white female with shoulder-length or longer reddish hair. She was wearing a dark winter jacket with a hood.

‘Based on the video she may have experience with bird handling,’ police said.

Anyone who may be able to identify the suspect or who has information regarding the incident is asked to contact the State College Police Department at (814) 234-7150, by email or by submitting an anonymous tip through the department’s website.
