The U.S. 322 westbound exit ramp to Route 26/College Avenue in College Township will be closed beginning at 7 a.m. Monday for bridge repairs.
Work is scheduled to continue until Oct. 25, but the closure will be lifted earlier if progress allows, according to PennDOT.
A detour will direct drivers to continue on Route 322 westbound for about one mile to the Penn State University exit, follow Park Avenue south, re-enter Route 322 eastbound for about one mile, and then exit for Route 26.
The closure is needed to make repairs to bridge beams that were damaged in a crash during the summer. The bridge is on the overpass, with damage to the span that goes over the Route 26 exit ramp.
The repair work was added to PennDOT’s I-99 construction contract with Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc.
