The case of a missing Lemont man who was last seen on Aug. 13 has been turned over to Pennsylvania State Police.

Ronald V. Bettig, 56, was last seen at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. A resident of Mulberry Lane in Lemont, Bettig is an associate professor of media studies in Penn State’s College of Communications.

State College Police Lt. Keith Robb said Thursday that the case had been turned over by the department to state police but did not say why.

Bettig’s vehicle, a maroon 2010 Ford Focus with Pennsylvania license plate HJL 5155, is also missing.

Bettig is one of two missing person cases in the State College area this week. Police also are looking for 17-year-old Olivia Williams, who was last seen boarding a Mega Bus on Aug. 10 on North Atherton Street and may have traveled to Western Pennsylvania.
