UPDATED: State College Area Power Outages Linger After Wednesday Storms

UPDATED @ 10:41 a.m.: About 160 Allegheny Power customers in Centre County were without power as of 10:40 a.m. Friday, according to the company website. Ninety-six of the affected addresses were in Port Matilda, 58 were in Bellefonte, and eight were in Woodward, Allegheny reported. Service is expected to be restored in those areas by early afternoon.

Power has now been restored to the earlier-affected addresses in State College, Pine Grove Mills and Pennsylvania Furnace, according to the company.

More than 700 Allegheny Power customers in Centre County remained without the company’s electricity service Friday morning after powerful storms late Wednesday.

Shortly before 7:30 a.m. Friday, the Allegheny website showed nearly 200 addresses in State College were without power. About 400 in Pine Grove Mills and 110 in Pennsylvania Furnace also had lingering outages at that hour, the website showed.

Service is expected to be restored before noon Friday, according to the power company.
