Ferguson Township police say a number of attempted break-ins have occurred recently in Pine Grove Mills, and on Wednesday a woman was arrested after she allegedly twice tried to get into someone else’s residence.

Zelia V. Fogelsanger, 18, of Pine Grove Mills, was charged with two counts of criminal trespass, a third-degree felony, and two counts of loitering and prowling at night time, a third degree misdemeanor.

Police said more charges are pending.

A Lois Lane resident reported that he had video footage of a female wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and carrying a black bag trying to open the front door of his house at about 2 a.m. on Wednesday, according to a police affidavit. The same female attempted to open the front door at 4:45 a.m. on Monday.

An officer reviewed the footage and recognized Fogelsanger from prior contact with her. Police said review of the video confirmed the resident’s account and that Fogelsanger appeared to be wearing a glove.

In connection with the arrest, police recovered hand gun that had been stolen from a locked vehicle. Pine Grove Mills residents are advised to check their homes and vehicles and report missing items to Ferguson Township police at 1-800-479-0050 or at police@twp.ferguson.pa.us.

Fogelsanger was arraigned before District Judge Thomas Jordan and was unable to post $50,000 straight monetary bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 16.
