Saquon Barkley is no stranger to the screen, earning fame throughout his career as one of the top running backs in the NFL, but he’ll be appearing in a different format this fall.

On Wednesday, Amazon’s Prime Video announced an upcoming documentary following the former Penn State star’s journey through the NFL, including his time with the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles. Per the documentary’s description, it gives viewers “a firsthand account of Barkley’s journey by utilizing five years of video diaries recorded by Saquon.” This includes his ACL surgery, trade to the Eagles, Super Bowl victory and a look at his personal life as a husband and father.

According to the trailer, the documentary is produced by famous filmmaker Martin Scorsese, along with NFL Films and Skydance Sports. It’s set to release on Oct. 9, the same day the Eagles play at the Giants.

This comes on the heels of a historic season, in which Barkley set the NFL’s single-season rushing record en route to hoisting the Lombardi Trophy. He was named the NFL Offensive Player of the Year and a first-team All-Pro in his first campaign in Philadelphia. Prior to that, he spent six seasons with the Giants, earning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and making two Pro Bowls.

Prior to his NFL career, Barkley captivated the country throughout three seasons in Happy Valley, amassing 3,843 rushing yards which ranks second in program history. He finished with 43 rushing touchdowns, a program best, as well as making major impacts in the passing game and on kick returns. He was selected No. 2 overall by the Giants in 2018.
