Penn State’s next recruiting class has taken another major hit in the wake of James Franklin’s firing.
Class of 2026 four-star quarterback Troy Huhn has decommitted from the Nittany Lions, per Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett. Huhn had been committed since June 25 and made multiple visits to campus in that span.
The San Marcos, California, native was also in attendance for Penn State’s 41-37 loss at UCLA earlier this season.
Huhn ranks as the No. 19 quarterback in the class, No. 26 California prospect and No. 258 overall player, per the 247Sports composite rankings. The Nittany Lions now have no quarterbacks in the class.
Huhn joins a long list of decommitments, including four-star wide receiver Davion Brown, four-star cornerback Jaziel Hart, four-star edge rusher Elijah Littlejohn and three-star wide receiver Lavar Keys in the 2026 class and five-star running back Kemon Spell, five-star offensive tackle Layton Von Brandt, four-star wide receiver Khaliil Taylor and four-star linebacker Gabe Jenkins.
Additionally, four-star safety Matt Sieg, four-star athlete David Davis, four-star linebacker Terry Wiggins, four-star wide receiver Jahsiear Rogers, four-star running back Messiah Mickens, three-star cornerback Julian Peterson, three-star offensive tackle Tavian Branch, three-star defensive lineman Isaac Chukwurah, three-star safety Darrell Carey, three-star offensive lineman Marlen Bright and three-star offensive lineman Benjamin Eziuka, all in the 2026 class, have reopened their recruitment but remain committed.
