Centre County Adds 123 COVID-19 Cases Over 2 Days; Pennsylvania Reports 10,068

Centre County reported 123 new COVID-19 cases over the past two days — 70 on Sunday and 53 on Monday — to bring its total to 10,235, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Pennsylvania added 10,068 new positives — 6,023 on Sunday and 4,045 on Monday — bringing the statewide total to 771,845.

The county also had 371 additional negative test results over the two days, increasing its total to 54,651. Across Pennsylvania there were 26,485 new negatives for a total of 3,481,716.

Mount Nittany Medical Center is treating 46 COVID-19 inpatients as of Monday morning, two fewer than at the time of the hospital’s last update on Friday. The patients range in age from 32 to 101 , according to a medical center spokesperson.

DOH’s hospital preparedness dashboard, which includes Mount Nittany and rehabilitation hospitals, lists 51 hospitalized COVID-19 patients in Centre County, including two in intensive care and one on a ventilator.

Statewide, 4,582 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, including 950 in intensive care and 583 on ventilators.

The health department reported two new COVID-19 deaths among Centre County residents to bring the total to 171. Coroner Scott Sayers has confirmed 122 deaths in Centre County, ranging in age from 55 to 104.

With 202 new COVID-19 deaths reported over the past two days, Pennsylvania’s total is now 19,390.

An estimated 76% of COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered, according to a DOH calculation.

Among Pennsylvania’s total cases, 681,461 are confirmed and 90,384 are probable. In Centre County, 9,567 are confirmed and 668 are probable.
