Centre County Adds 28 COVID-19 Cases; Pennsylvania Reports 2,385 New Positives

Centre County reported 28 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday to bring its total to 16,614, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Pennsylvania added 2,385 positives for a statewide total of 1,177,072.

The county also also had 64 additional negative test results to increase its total to 68,741. Across Pennsylvania, there were 8,729 new negatives for a total of 4,476,217.

Mount Nittany Medical Center is treating 14 COVID-19 inpatients, three fewer than its last update on Friday. The patients range in age from 42 to 100, a hospital spokesperson said. According to the DOH hospital preparedness dashboard, one COVID-19 patient in Centre County is in intensive care and none are on ventilators.

Statewide, Pennsylvania has 1,751 COVID-19 inpatients, a decrease of 47 since Monday, with 406 patients in intensive care [unchanged] and 239 on ventilators [-2].

DOH reported no new deaths attributed to the virus among Centre County residents, keeping the county’s total at 220 for the 13th consecutive day.

With 57 new COVID-19 deaths reported statewide, Pennsylvania’s total is now 26,607.

An estimated 90% of COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered, per a health department calculation.

As of Tuesday morning, 58,235 people in Centre County are fully vaccinated and 17,742 are partially covered.

Among Centre County’s cases, 15,149 are confirmed and 1,465 are probable. Statewide, 989,418 are confirmed and 187,654 are probable.
