Centre County reported 36 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday to bring its total to 12,555, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Pennsylvania added 2,818 cases, bringing the statewide total to 911,591.
The county also had 55 additional negative test results, increasing its total to 60,278. Across Pennsylvania there were 8,051 new negatives for a total of 3,815,778.
DOH reported one new death attributed to the virus among Centre County residents, bringing the county’s total at 207.
With 90 new COVID-19 deaths reported statewide on Saturday, Pennsylvania’s total is now 23,570.
According to the health department’s hospital preparedness dashboard, which includes both Mount Nittany and rehabilitation hospitals, 15 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in Centre County, with none in intensive care or on ventilators.
Across Pennsylvania, 2,060 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, including 443 in intensive care and 259 on ventilators, as of Saturday morning.
Centre County’s PCR testing positivity rate for Feb. 12 through Feb. 18 dropped to 4.5%, down from 9.3% the previous seven days, according to the updated DOH early warning monitoring dashboard. Pennsylvania’s statewide PCR testing positivity rate was 6.5%, down from 8.0% the previous week.
Average daily COVID hospitalizations in Centre County also fell to 15.9 from 25.9 a week earlier.
Nursing and personal care homes in Centre County reported six new COVID-19 case among residents. A total of 18 long-term care facilities in the county have had a combined 694 resident cases, 146 employee cases and 157 resident deaths.
An estimated 89% of COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered, per a health department calculation.
A total of 20,857 people in Centre County have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, including 4,960 who are fully covered with both required doses, according to health department data last updated on Friday.
Among Pennsylvania’s total cases, 786,131 are confirmed and 125,460 are probable. In Centre County, 11,598 are confirmed and 957 are probable.
