Centre County Adds 69 COVID-19 Cases; Pennsylvania Reports 4,628

Centre County reported 69 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday to bring its total to 10,724, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Pennsylvania added 4,628 new cases, bringing the statewide total to 812,495.

The county also had 171 additional negative test results, increasing its total to 56,274. Across Pennsylvania there were 10,411 new negatives for a total of 3,579,851.

DOH reported one new COVID-19 death among Centre County residents to bring the total to 186. Coroner Scott Sayers has confirmed 130 deaths attributed to the virus in Centre County, ranging in age from 55 to 104.

With 219 new COVID-19 deaths reported Tuesday, Pennsylvania’s total is now 20,883.

Mount Nittany Medical Center is currently treating 34 COVID-19 patients, an increase of three since Monday. The patients range in age from 13 to 96, a hospital spokesperson said.

Statewide, 3,790 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, including 760 in intensive care and 436 on ventilators.

An estimated 79% of COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered, according to a DOH calculation.

According to DOH data, 6,348 people in Centre County have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine to date. Of those, 1,370 have received the required second dose.

Among Pennsylvania’s total cases, 714,243 are confirmed and 98,252 are probable. In Centre County, 9,981 are confirmed and 743 are probable.
