CENTRE COUNTY — Adult Children of Aging Parents Centre County, an organization dedicated to supporting adult children who are caregivers for their aging parents, will host a free educational event on Tuesday, Sept. 10, on healthy eating and nutrition for aging adults.
The program will start at 5:30 p.m. at the Centre Region Active Adult Center in the Nittany Mall.
“How do we know what our parents should and should not eat? How do we know if they are getting adequate nutrition? What resources are available to help? Learn the importance of proper nutrition, identify challenges impacting dietary choices, and access strategies and resources to ensure your aging parents receive adequate nutrition,” a statement from ACAP shared.
The “Healthy Eating and Nutritional Needs for Aging Adults” program will be led by Danielle Michael, director of nutrition services for Encompass Health.
“Join us to receive expert guidance and empower yourself to support your parents’ health and functionality,” the statement said.
