The Bellefonte Raiders scored in every inning except the second and Dominic Capperella pitched a four-hit complete game in their 9-1 win over Juniata in the District 6, AAAA Championship game on May 23.
Capperella gave up one run, struck out 11 and walked only three in the win, while Trevor Johnson, Braedyn Kormanic and Josh Brown supplied the offense.
Johnson hit a two-run home run in the third inning and finished with three hits and three RBIs, and Kormanic and Brown each had two hits.
Kormanic also knocked in three runs, and the team connected for a total of 10 hits in the game.
Juniata did manage to score a run in the seventh inning on two hits and a walk, but it was far too late and Capperella closed out the victory on a fly out and a ground out.
The win was the 15th of the season for Bellefonte, against five losses, and the Raiders will now advance to the Sub-Regional Tournament.
The winner of the Sub-Regional will qualify for the PIAA Tournament scheduled to begin on Monday, June 5.
