STATE COLLEGE — Happy Valley Adventure Bureau Board of Directors recently accepted the resignation of HVAB President and CEO Fritz Smith.
Eric Engelbarts has been appointed acting President and CEO, effective immediately, with the board finalizing this action at its meeting on Tuesday, May 19.
Engelbarts was appointed HVAB Deputy Director in December 2025 and serves as the Executive Director of the Happy Valley Sports & Entertainment Alliance. In a statement, the board said they have full confidence in Engelbart’s leadership as they work together to position Happy Valley, PA for the next phase of tourism economic growth.
The board thanked Fritz for his service to the organization and his commitment to the tourism industry.
