STATE COLLEGE — Happy Valley Sports & Entertainment Alliance Executive Director Eric Engelbarts has been elected treasurer of PA Sports, the official sports tourism arm of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
PA Sports is a coalition of the state’s top sports tourism organizations, united by the mission of attracting high-quality sporting events to Pennsylvania and providing top-tier service to event organizers. By leveraging collaboration across regions, PA Sports works to boost economic development and promote Pennsylvania as a premier sports destination.
“I’m honored to serve as treasurer for PA Sports and to represent Happy Valley on a statewide level,” Engelbarts said in a statement. “This role is an important opportunity to strengthen Pennsylvania’s position in the national sports marketplace and to advocate for the economic and community impact sports bring to our region and beyond.”
Engelbarts brings extensive experience to the role, leading Happy Valley’s strategic efforts to host and grow sports and entertainment events that benefit the local economy and enhance the quality of life in Centre County.
As treasurer, Engelbarts will oversee financial operations and contribute to PA Sports’ broader mission of fostering statewide collaboration in sports tourism, an industry that drives significant economic impact through visitor spending, hotel stays and community engagement.
