STATE COLLEGE — Mount Nittany Health recently announced through a press release that it recognized its many volunteers during National Volunteer Week, which was held April 16-22.

National Volunteer Week recognizes the impact of volunteer service and the power of volunteers to tackle society’s greatest challenges, build stronger communities and be a force that transforms the world.
Mount Nittany Health is fortunate to have more than 50 incredible volunteers who go above and beyond to help provide compassionate care to the community. From greeting patients with warm smiles, to helping guests find their loved ones, to assisting with everyone’s favorite “Milkshake Monday” in the gift shop, volunteers bring extra hands and a ton of heart to everything they do.
“The volunteers are an integral part of the health system team,” said Ali Kollar, manager, endoscopy. “They provide support for our staff and care for our patients. Without them, we would not be able to run as efficiently as we do. Thank you to all the volunteers; we greatly appreciate everything you do.”
There are many volunteer opportunities to assist staff, patients, their families and visitors at the medical center. Those interested in learning more about volunteering can get in touch with Amelia Hull, volunteer resources supervisor, at amelia.hull@mountnittany.org, or (814) 231-7836.
“On behalf of Mount Nittany Health’s patients, team members and the community we serve, we offer our most sincere thanks to all of our volunteers,” said Kathleen Rhine, president and CEO of Mount Nittany Health. “We know their time is valuable and we are very pleased they choose to spend some of it with us. They are making an incredible difference.”
