STATE COLLEGE — Penn State women’s ice hockey standout Tessa Janecke was named to the 2024 team USA Rivalry Series roster for November, USA Hockey announced. This is her fourth time appearing on a rivalry series roster.
The Rivalry Series is a series of games between USA Hockey and Hockey Canada that began in 2018-19. Since then, the number of games played in the series has risen from three to five.
The first three games will take place at Tech CU Arena in San Jose, California, on Wednesday, Nov. 6; the Maverik Center in West Valley, Utah, on Friday, Nov. 8; and Idaho Central Arena in Boise, Idaho, on Sunday, Nov. 10.
All games will be broadcast on the NHL Network with tickets being sold on USA Hockey’s website.
Janecke leads the Penn State team in points with nine, goals with four and assists with five in the 2024-25 season. She is also the captain of the Nittany Lions and has been a large reason for Penn State’s 4-2 record.
Last year, the junior was named the 2023-24 AHA Player of the Year and a CCM/AHCA Second Team Division I All-American.
Her incredible season saw her called up to the IIHF Women’s World Championships and two rivalry series rosters.
Janecke is fourth all-time in Penn State history with 103 points despite only playing two seasons.
